One Saturday afternoon in September 2001, Evan was riding his bike and turned into the path of an oncoming car. Despite dealing with the sudden tragedy of Evan's death, his family knew that he would have wanted to help others and made the decision to donate his organs.

Evan's "Gift of Life" has touched 100 people through organ, bone, skin and eye donations.
