In January 1996, I became very ill as a result of a virus, and I was in desperate need of a heart transplant. Fortunately a donor was found. The wonderful people at UCLA performed the surgery that gave me back my life in January of 1998!I am here today because a young woman in Nevada signed an organ donor card before she died and her family knew of her wishes.

Being a transplant recipient is never part of a person's life plan, it sure wasn't for me. However, being an organ donor can be part of your life's plan!
